Whew! What a ride this year has been! I feel like I haven’t stopped since we started in February. What a fun ride though. Winning twice, 9 top10’s and being #1 coming off the Web.com Tour are things that I will be able to draw on for many years to come. Such an incredible year. It was great to continue the momentum right into the fall events on the PGA Tour and squeak into a top-10 in Vegas after finally putting everything together! More than anything, playing this fall against the best players in the world has shown me that I have the game to compete and when I am able to put everything together I will win on the PGA Tour.
I have a lot to work on as I progress and it’s only going to get harder from here out. My putting needs to continue to improve. I made great strides this year, but it will still remain a focal point this coming year. My short game is the area in which I need to improve the most. I still do not give myself the quality chances the top players do from 125 yards and in. Green side, I am still not getting the ball up and down consistently. Pitching (30-70) yards needs to continue to improve. My ball striking has always been good enough to win PGA Tour events and this year I did a much better job of knowing my swing and staying consistent throughout the year. I need to continue to put in the work that allows me to maintain the positions I am looking for.
I continue to have around me the best support system anyone could ask for. What can you say about family? Their love and support can get me through anything and I look forward to sharing this wild ride with them. The team I have put into place help take me to new levels. They have all helped shape who I am not only as a golfer but also as an individual. It’s more than a business relationship, we are all family!
To my sponsors: Callaway Golf, Perry Ellis (Callaway clothing), Belfor Restoration Services, Shaw Communications, Oakley, you have all been instrumental in my success this year. I am very fortunate to have such great relationships with companies that have great people working for them. Each relationship I build goes beyond our partnership into a deeper friendship.
I want to thank all of my fans and supporters. Thank you for all of the messages, the tweets, the posts of support. I promise you, they do not go unheard.
It’s going to be a very productive off-season. After taking a little time off it will be back to work prepping for the Sony Open in January. My team and I will sit down and identify what areas need to be addressed and we will all be ready to hit the ground running come January. I have big expectations for 2015. I am ready to take my game to the next level and become a prominent player on the PGA Tour.
